Grimston Gardens

Grimston Gardens is a beautiful square located in the favoured west end of the town.  It was constructed mainly in the late Victorian period when Folkestone was in its heyday.  It is situated less than 10 minutes walk from the Gardens to the Leas and around 15 minutes walk to Folkestone town centre.  30 Grimston Gardens is on the north side of the square.

In the centre of the square are the Gardens; a large grassy area surrounded on all sides by large, mature trees.  It is a great place for lazing in the sun in the summer, playing games or enjoying the occasional barbecue.  It is quiet, sheltered and tranquil.  It is exclusively for the use of residents of Grimston Gardens and it is well managed and maintained by a local estate agent.

Grimston Gardens is home to the School of English Studies (www.ses-folkestone.co.uk).  SES has been providing pioneering and proven methods of teaching English for over 50 years.  It was the first school in the UK to launch an Executive English language course and the first in the world to open a dedicated listening centre.  The school owns three properties in the Gardens.

Grimston Gardens is on the edge of the catchment area for Sandgate Primary School (www.sandgateprimary.co.uk).  Sandgate School is probably the best primary school in Folkestone.  It was assessed as outstanding by Oftsed in 2010.  The school is a 15 minute walk from the Gardens.
